Human capital is emerging as a true differentiator in the rapidly changing economic environment. As a result, talent management is high on the CXOs’ agenda. Not surprisingly, this segment has seen major M&A activity in recent times – both from a software perspective (e.g., SAP’s acquisition of SuccessFactors and Oracle’s acquisition of Taleo), as well as from a services perspective (e.g., ADP’s acquisition of The RightThing). IBM’s announcement to acquire Kenexa is the latest one to hit the market in this “hot” segment.
