Europe continued to record sustained momentum for cloud adoption. Industry verticals such as transportation & travel, manufacturing, and technology witnessed
significant cloud adoption. Cloud activity was recorded across European countries, such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Greece, Sweden, the Netherlands,
and Russia.
Cloud firms, such as NetSuite and Workday as well as traditional technology providers, such as IBM, witnessed significant traction.
Technology providers kept up investments in partnerships and acquisitions to build IP, access global markets, and enhance delivery capabilities. Independent Software
Vendors (ISVs), such as CA, Salesforce.com, and SAP, accounted for the bulk of such alliances and acquisitions for ramping up their cloud services. Even IT service
providers such as Accenture and IBM invested significantly to expand in Europe.
In terms of offerings, providers are launching innovative cloud delivery solutions to leverage the explosion in usage of social media and mobile devices. Buyers are
increasingly looking at such tools to measure consumer sentiment, engage users, disseminate information, enhance direct sales channels, and gain actionable
insights.
